Welcome back and thank you for returning to mentor our LJMU student teachers. As a returning mentor, you complete a 6-hour refresher this academic year, and this is eligible for DfE funding (see DfE guidance). Mentor development will be live and online. The dates have been provided in advance and equate to 6 hours mentor training.
Mentor development focuses on subject and phase specific mentoring, target setting and feedback. Pivotal practice is explored through the four ITaPs (Intensive Training and Practice). Expert colleagues lead you through university and school-based input, enactment and assessment of Behaviours for Learning, Reflection, Observation & Planning, Adaptive Teaching and Attachment and Trauma Informed Practice.
