The Impact of Partnership: Roles & Responsibilities

Liverpool John Moores University is an established provider of ITE and has a long history of training teachers in the North-West of England. Working with around 200 partner schools across the primary and secondary sectors, our commitment is one of civic duty to the region and beyond. Working in partnership, our ITE programmes develop trainee teachers who become well-qualified, committed and socially engaged professionals equipped to embrace the 'realities of classroom teaching' (Ofsted 2023). We are proud of our strong relationships with partner schools. Together our shared vision is to ensure that student teachers prioritise equity and 'social justice for all pupils' in their care. High quality mentoring and coaching are pivotal throughout the ITE year.

The information in the Roles & Responsibilities section provides an overview of the specific roles and responsibilities of student teacher, Professional Mentor, General/ITT Mentor and Lead Mentor (Liaison Tutor).
